Stand-on Counterbalance Forklift for Frequent Handling

The MiMA MKN18 is designed for operations combining pallet transport, loading and rack replenishment. Its stand-on operating position allows convenient entry and exit, making it suitable for short travel cycles and applications where operators regularly leave the truck.

Compact Chassis for Restricted Areas

With an overall width of approximately 1,065 mm and a 1,488 mm turning radius, the MKN18 can manoeuvre in areas where a conventional sit-down counterbalance forklift may require more space. The counterbalance design also handles closed pallets without load-side support legs.

Front Dual AC Drive

Two 4.5 kW AC drive motors provide responsive travel and controlled traction. Maximum travel speed reaches 12 km/h, while specified gradeability reaches 15% under standard test conditions. The AC system eliminates routine drive-motor carbon-brush replacement.

Controlled Lifting up to 6,200 mm

Duplex, duplex full-free and triplex full-free mast configurations cover lift heights from 2,000 to 6,200 mm. Electric proportional hydraulics and an integrated control handle support controlled lifting, lowering, mast tilting and optional sideshift operation.

Actual residual capacity depends on lift height, load centre and attachment configuration.

Visibility and Operator Support

The overhead-guard structure is designed to reduce obstruction around the mast and load. A supportive backrest, wide knee space, suspended floor and variable-damping steering help create a practical operating position for intensive warehouse cycles.

Safety and Battery Configuration

Turning-speed control, lift limiting, controlled lowering, electromagnetic braking and operator-presence monitoring support predictable operation. The MKN18 is available with a 48V/700Ah lead-acid battery or 48V/460Ah lithium battery, with side extraction simplifying battery replacement and service access.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about MN18. For application-specific advice, contact MiMA Australia.

Q1: When should I choose a stand-on forklift instead of a sit-down model?
A stand-on forklift is well suited to operations involving frequent entry and exit, short travel cycles and repeated loading or rack-replenishment tasks. A sit-down forklift may be more suitable for longer uninterrupted travel.
Q2: How much aisle width does the MKN18 require?
The specified right-angle stacking aisle is 3,108 mm with a 1,000 × 1,200 mm pallet handled across the forks. The final aisle calculation must also include the actual load dimensions, attachment length, rack clearance and operating margin.
Q3: Can the MKN18 carry 1,800 kg at 6,200 mm?
No. The nominal 1,800 kg capacity applies under specified load-centre and lift conditions. At 6,200 mm with a 500 mm load centre, the reference load chart indicates approximately 1,100 kg. The final truck data plate must always be followed.
Q4: Can the MKN18 work inside shipping containers?
guard height, mast lowered height, container-door clearance and access-ramp angle must be checked before selection.
Q5: Should I choose a lead-acid or lithium battery?
The 700Ah lead-acid battery suits operations with established charging and maintenance routines. The 460Ah lithium battery supports opportunity charging and requires less routine maintenance. Selection should follow a duty-cycle and energy-consumption assessment.
Q6: Is the MKN18 suitable for outdoor or cold-store operation?
Cold-store configurations can be specified according to the required temperature range. Outdoor use should be limited to suitable improved surfaces after checking gradients, moisture protection, tyre requirements and the truck’s ground clearance.
Q7: Can a sideshift be installed?
Yes. Sideshift is available as an optional hydraulic attachment. The reference load chart indicates that an externally mounted sideshift reduces capacity by approximately 100 kg; the final residual capacity must be calculated for the complete configuration.
